The newly nostalgic ‚Desert‘ glass colour is inspired by the hot, happy and endless summers of childhood, as well as the classic Iittala glass articles of the 1950s. The Aalto Vase was designed in 1936 and first presented at the Paris World’s Fair the following year. Its fluid, organic form is mouth-blown in the Iittala workshops, even to this day. A team of seven craftsmen, each of significant experience, is required to produce a single Aalto Vase – truly an icon of modern design.
